Event Details

We have much respect for this man. Hailing from the original days of Jungle and Drum and Bass he helped form the sound we hear today. Let see what he bring when he hits The Space at Fellowship and Star. He is sure not to disappoint.

Ask anyone in drum'n'bass what first inspired them to make music and Grooverider's name is sure to crop up. Not only has he notched up an incredible amount of years behind the decks, DJing everywhere from dingy illegal warehouse parties to huge outdoor festivals, but his legendary radio shows with longtime companion Fabio (Kiss FM and Radio One) helped spread the gospel of drum'n'bass further and further afield. As resident at seminal London night Rage throughout its four year stint at Heaven, he personally oversaw dance music's evolution from acid house to techno and finally drum'n'bass.

The Rest is History - The Early Days of Drum and Bass

Before the show we are screening music documentary The Rest is History - The Early Days of Drum & Bass in our State of the Art Cinema Bellingham Film Palace.

From the days of illegal raves to the dark club sounds of Optical and Ed Rush, The Rest Is History is a look back at the early years of Jungle and Drum & Bass music, how it developed, and the culture that surrounded it. With interviews from some of the original pioneers (Micky Finn, Ray Keith, Dillinja, Ragga Twins, Paul Ibiza, G.Q,) the viewers get an intimate look into the creation of this beloved underground art form like never before.
